
Advisory Board Member
Dr. Guido K.W. Frank is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego and a nationally recognized psychiatrist-scientist whose work focuses on the intersection of brain function, behavior, and metabolism. He is board-certified in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry and provides clinical care through UC San Diego Health, including leadership roles at the Eating Disorders Center for Treatment and Research and the Medical Behavioral Unit at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego.
With more than three decades of clinical and research experience, Dr. Frank’s work integrates neuroimaging, computational neuroscience, and clinical psychiatry to better understand brain circuits involved in eating behavior, reward processing, anxiety, and metabolism-related mental health conditions. His research has been continuously supported by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and multiple private foundations, and his publications are widely cited within the psychiatry and neuroscience communities.
As a member of the Santa Barbara Nutrients Advisory Board, Dr. Frank advises on research strategy and scientific direction, particularly in exploring metabolic approaches to mental health disorders and translating emerging science into clinically meaningful applications.
