The Science Behind KetoCitra For the Dietary Management of PKD
In this video, Dr. Thomas Weimbs, Professor at the University of California in Santa Barbara (UCSB) and President of Santa Barbara Nutrients, and Fiona Chin, naturopath medical researcher and kidney expert, discuss how the research in Dr. Weimbs' lab has led to a better understanding of polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and novel methods to deliver therapeutics specifically to polycystic kidneys.
Fiona is the co-founder of The Kidney Disease Solution program and of Kygenesis. She is a fully qualified naturopath with almost two decades of experience. She is qualified in herbal medicine, nutrition, food therapy, holistic counseling, live blood analysis, essences, kinesiology, and mindfulness.
When you walk into a doctor’s office, you’re often viewed as a case, not a person. This is the complete opposite of her approach to clients. She is passionate about treating the person – the whole person – and not just the disease. She also believes that the mind is just as important as the body in healing, so she pays special attention to the connection between the two.
She developed a particular interest in kidney health after her beloved Nanna’s kidney failure diagnosis and has been specializing in kidney function and optimization ever since. When she is not seeing patients, working on new formulations, or offering advice on the Kidney Coach Facebook page, you’ll find her meditating, reading, traveling, or simply spending time in nature.
