Santa Barbara Nutrients Appoints Charles Cavo, DO as Vice President for Metabolic Health

Santa Barbara, CA – July 23, 2025 — Santa Barbara Nutrients, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on medical foods, nutraceuticals, and nutrition education programs for metabolic and kidney health, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Charles Cavo, DO as Vice President for Metabolic Health. Dr. Cavo joined the Santa Barbara Nutrients team in February 2025. In this newly established leadership role, Dr. Cavo will oversee the company’s medical strategy and clinical innovation in the area of metabolic health, helping to drive scientific development and educational outreach for products aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Dr. Cavo brings over 25 years of clinical experience to Santa Barbara Nutrients, most recently serving as a physician and medical director at Pounds Transformation, a respected metabolic and weight-loss clinic. A graduate of the NOVA Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Cavo holds board certifications in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Obesity Medicine, and is completing his Functional Medicine Certification. His integrative approach has made him a prominent advocate for science-based, individualized metabolic health interventions.
