Long Covid Media Event
Date & Time: Jul 30, 2024, 08:00 AM in Pacific Time (US and Canada) / 11:00 AM Eastern
Description:
On Tuesday, July 30, there will be a special media event to announce a new Long Covid clinical trial that is actively recruiting patients as well as the launch of the Center for Long Covid Research's Long Covid Art Project.
Because of the importance and timely nature of this, in addition to members of the press, Long Covid patients who may be interested in either the clinical trial or the art-therapy program are also invited to attend this event.
The trial will be led by faculty members of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. The trial protocol will evaluate the impacts of dietary interventions in Long Covid patients. The dietary interventions are aimed at lowering blood glucose levels and raising blood ketone levels, and subjects will take the medical food Keto Citra, which will deliver exogenous BHB to raise blood ketone levels without adhering to a strict ketogenic diet and they will also follow a low-carbohydrate diet.
The Center for Long Covid Research's Long Covid Art Project will use the healing power of art to improve patient well-being and cognitive function. All Long Covid patients are eligible to participate and the first step is to submit a piece of art (examples include but are not limited to painting, photograph, drawing, essay poem, and musical composition).
In addition to these two key announcements, there will be a moderated discussion group with three Long Covid patients who will share perspectives and experiences.
