Santa Barbara Nutrients Welcomes Wakana Koizumi, RD, MPH as Research Dietitian

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — August 8, 2026 — Santa Barbara Nutrients (SBN), a science-driven company dedicated to advancing metabolic health solutions, is pleased to announce that Wakana Koizumi, RD, MPH has joined the company as Research Dietitian.

Ms. Koizumi is a Registered Dietitian and PhD candidate at Juntendo University in Tokyo, Japan, where she is involved in clinical nutrition research with a focus on nutrition-based approaches in urology and oncology. Her work includes providing nutritional counseling for patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) while contributing to clinical research exploring how nutritional interventions can improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, Ms. Koizumi earned a Master of Public Health (MPH), where her research examined the relationship between sleep and lipid metabolism. Her academic interests span nutritional science, metabolic health, and the translation of research findings into practical dietary strategies that improve patient care.

In her role at Santa Barbara Nutrients, Ms. Koizumi will support clinical research initiatives and contribute to the continued development of evidence-based nutritional programs, including the Ren-Nu™ ketogenic nutrition program for individuals living with polycystic kidney disease.
