Dr. Guido K.W. Frank is a renowned psychiatrist and scientist with over three decades of experience in clinical care and research. As a member of the Santa Barbara Nutrients Advisory Board, Dr. Frank plays a pivotal role in guiding the company’s research strategy, specifically regarding metabolic therapies for mental health disorders.

Currently a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), Dr. Frank also serves as the Director of Psychiatry at the Medical Behavioral Unit at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. He is board-certified in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry, with specialized training in psychosomatics from the Center for Behavioral Health Klinik Roseneck (Germany) and advanced research training from the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic and UCSD.

Dr. Frank’s highly cited research integrates neuroimaging, computational neuroscience, and clinical data to decode the brain circuits underlying eating behaviors, anxiety, and metabolism-related psychopathology. His work is supported by sustained funding from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and various private foundations. At Santa Barbara Nutrients, Dr. Frank applies his expertise to help translate emerging science into innovations that support brain and metabolic health.
