Professor Müller is the Director of the ADPKD Diagnostics and Therapy Center at the University Hospital Cologne, Germany. He is also a Research Group Leader at the CECAD Center of Excellence in Aging Research, the Nephrolab Cologne (Kidney Research Center Cologne, KRCC), and at the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC).
The CECAD Center is a Cluster of Excellence at the University of Cologne, founded in collaboration with the Max Planck Institutes (MPI) for Biology of Ageing and for Metabolism Research, and the Helmholtz’ German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE).
The Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne is a biomedical research and educational center within the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Cologne.
Professor Müller’s research has focused on basic science studies and clinical research primarily on acute kidney injury, metabolism and polycystic kidney disease. Professor Müller currently directs the KETO-ADPKD clinical trial to evaluate effects of ketogenic dietary interventions in ADPKD.
