Our blogs cover nutritional management for chronic kidney disease and polycystic kidney disease (PKD), oxalates, dietary interventions for kidney disease and PKD, and so much more!
What is polycystic kidney disease (PKD)?
PKD is a genetically inherited disease that is characterized by metabolic defects, renal cyst growth, progressive chronic kidney disease, and other serious complications. It affects more than half a million people in the United States and currently has no cure. PKD affects ~600,000 Americans and millions more worldwide.
What is Chronic kidney disease (CKD)?
Chronic kidney disease is associated with a gradual loss of kidney function. There are several diseases and conditions such as type 1 or type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, PKD, recurrent kidney infection, and more that can cause CKD. More than 37 million people in the United States are affected by CKD.
We focus on education for patients, practitioners, and other researchers while empowering people to advocate for their health and raise awareness for those living with PKD and kidney disease. We believe there ARE lifestyle and dietary recommendations that individuals can pursue for CKD and PKD.
Today, you CAN advocate for your health.
