Santa Barbara Nutrients was founded by experienced kidney researchers and many industry professionals including team members affected by kidney disease, specifically polycystic kidney disease (PKD) who bring in a unique perspective.

Our blogs cover nutritional management for polycystic kidney disease (PKD), oxalates, dietary interventions for kidney disease and PKD, and so much more!

What is polycystic kidney disease (PKD)?

PKD is a genetically inherited disease that is characterized by metabolic defects, renal cyst growth, progressive chronic kidney disease, and other serious complications. It affects more than half a million people in the United States and currently has no cure. PKD affects ~600,000 Americans and millions more worldwide.

We focus on education for patients, practitioners, and other researchers while empowering people to advocate for their health and raise awareness for those living with PKD and kidney disease. We believe there ARE lifestyle and dietary recommendations that individuals can pursue for PKD.
